Hi! I’m Betsy, the voice behind Nomadic Charm. My family is a military family of five, constantly on the move. How constant? Fourteen moves in twelve years of marriage. Our norm is an always changing point of view and struggling to embrace our new normal.
What helps? Celebrating our everyday life. Nomadic Charm is about the little things I do and the people I love, with a scoop of real life in every post.
After experiencing life in different regions of the United States, we find ourselves living in Madrid, Spain and struggling to find our way. This move was meant to be the adventure of our lives and in a way it is. A frustratingly triumphant adventure. Come laugh your way through it with me.
Hi Betsy!
I’m an adult Army Brat and spent my childhood and early teens in what was West Germany. Though the transition was difficult at first for all of us (not the least of which was going metric!), we soon grew to love our host nation. Thirty years later, we all still love it and miss it terribly.
I say all that not to self-promote, but to let you know that you’re in for a wonderful experience! (Dealing with the Army notwithstanding–what a strange entity the Army is! lol)
I wish you and your family all the best in your move, and I hope you find as much joy and wonder in your new home as my family and I did in ours. I look forward to seeing your posts from abroad!
Thanks Merielle! It’s great to hear you still feel a tie to Germany, I hope my girls will feel the same about Spain! It is ALWAYS wonderful to have a new reader…thank you for your comments!
Oh and may I ask how you found my blog? I would love to find more readers and your answer may help! Thank you!!!
You are most welcome!
I’m so envious of your globe-trotting! Army life has left me with wanderlust; staying in one place for longer than 3 years is weird, even all these years later.
As for how I found your blog, it was on the “freshly pressed” list. It was the “feeling green” post. I didn’t go to Etsy, though, to see the products you posted, because Etsy makes me broke…
Eek! It was on Freshly Pressed?! Yay! I’m still looking and hope I find it soon! Thanks!
Oh no, I misspoke! I feel like a dork.
It was in “latest posts” on my dashboard. I don’t know why I said “freshly pressed”; that’s a whole other thing, I know!
So sorry!
Don’t feel bad…I found it under the fresh pressed tags…for home. Still exciting to make it on there, a good beginning!
That IS a good beginning!
